Claimed By the Bear

I was the bride in a business deal. His bear tore up the contract.

I walked into that cathedral to marry a stranger. It wasn't romance. It was a merger, and I was the asset: sign my future over to a Thorne, and the money keeps my little sister safe. I could live with that. I'd been priced and sold before.

Then the wrong brother walked in.

Boone Thorne is enormous, bearded, and hot to the touch like a wildfire. He's the estranged eldest son, back from whatever mountain swallowed him. My groom calls me a whale to my face. Boone puts him on the floor and takes his place at the altar.

Now I'm married to a man who feeds me, warms me, and worships every soft inch I've spent my life apologizing for. Except he doesn't say married. He says mated.

Bears mate for life. And the thing that growls under his skin chose me the moment he scented me.

I've never been wanted like this before, but is this gruff bear of a man strong enough to protect me from my enemies?
